USC is looking at a massive performance in the 2026 recruiting, and the Trojans picked up a big-time piece to add to the group on Friday.
The latest piece for Lincoln Riley and his staff comes in the form of Mark Bowman, an elite tight end prospect and an in-state recruit out of Mater Dei High School. The 247 Sports Composite has Bowman as the No. 4 overall player out of California, and he eventually committed to USC over offers from Georgia, Texas, Ole Miss and Oregon, among others.
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, Bowman is rated as the No. 1 overall tight end for the class of 2026, and he’s the No. 16 player in the country, regardless of position. Originally a 2027 prospect, Bowman reclassified at the start of 2025 and s a loaded class for the Trojans. His scouting report on 247 Sports includes comparisons to former Georgia superstar Brock Bowers, a 2-time winner of the John Mackey Award as the top TE in all of college football.
Bowman is the 27th hard commitment for USC so far this cycle in a group that currently ranks as the No. 1 overall recruiting class in the country. The star TE becomes the first 5-star prospect for the Trojans, but they also hold pledges from a whopping 16 players with a 4-star composite rating.
In of total points, USC’s recruiting class currently holds 282.71 points, and Notre Dame’s 253.02 is the next closest. We’ll see if USC can cross the finish line with the No. 1 overall class, but Riley’s program is in a great spot after a massive start to the offseason.
