Michigan and Oakland will still meet on the hardwood this season, according to The Detroit News. This will be the first matchup between the two in-state schools since 2011.

The initial date of the home contest for Michigan was Dec. 21, however, the Horizon League bumped up its conference schedule and isn’t letting teams have non-conference games afterward due to COVID-19 concerns. The new date for Michigan and Oakland’s matchup is Nov. 29.

Michigan leads the all-time series 7-1.

The other known games on Michigan’s schedule include at home vs. Central Florida (Dec. 6), and against N.C. State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Dec. 9). The B1G hasn’t announced its conference slate yet.

In Juwan Howard’s first season at the helm, Michigan finished 19-12 overall and ninth in the B1G.

Michigan picked up a major commitment recently to its impressive Class of 2021 group. Five-star big man Moussa Diabate chose Michigan over a number of other suitors. Michigan currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for 2021, according to MLive.com.
