Ohio State is working on the 2026 recruiting class, and the Buckeyes landed a potential impact prospect late Tuesday evening.
The latest piece comes in the form of Khary Wilder, a 4-star edge recruit out of Junipero Serra High School in California. Wilder is rated as a 4-star edge and a top-25 recruit at his position in the cycle, and he eventually committed to Ryan Day and the Buckeyes over offers from Notre Dame, Washington and UCLA.
Ohio State is now up to the 2nd overall recruiting class in the nation, trailing only USC’s top-ranked class.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, Wilder is a multi-sport athlete who was also an impact performer on the basketball court. On the football field, he logged 86 tackles, 11.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks in 12 games last season after a breakout 2023 campaign that included 14 sacks.
According to the 247 Sports Composite, Wilder is rated as the 23rd edge recruit in the entire country. He also rates as the 24th overall player out of California.
With the addition of Wilder, Ohio State is now up to 15 hard commitments for the 2026 recruiting class, a group that is well in the mix to be the No. 1 overall class when things wrap up. USC currently holds the top spot in overall points, but the average value of the Buckeyes’ class (92.96) trumps that of the Trojans (91.55).
