Missouri fans entered Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon filled with hope and confidence. The Tigers were a 3-point favorite over visiting Tennessee and were scoring an average of 38 points per game.

Well, it didn’t take long for the fun to stop, and the fans weren’t shy about expressing their feelings.

With Tennessee already up 7-3, Vols running back Tiyon Evans capped their second drive of the game with an 8-yard touchdown. He followed with an even bigger play, breaking for a 92-yard touchdown run on UT’s first play following a Missouri punt to put the Vols ahead 21-3.

Evans then rushed for a third touchdown on the following drive after Jeremy Banks picked off Missouri quarterback Connor Bazelak and returned it to the Missouri 1-yard line.

The Vols took a 28-3 lead against Missouri in the first quarter, and heading into the 4th quarter the Tigers were down 55-14.

All in all, a pretty good reason to be sad if you’re a Tigers fan.
