Apparently, early kickoffs are frowned upon in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama has undeniably been on quite an impressive run under head coach Nick Saban, but this recent complaint by Crimson Tide AD Greg Byrne is definitely a new one. He recently put out a statement on his personal Twitter to indicate Alabama is “disappointed” that the Sept. 21 game against Southern Miss was scheduled for a 12 pm EST kickoff.

Byrne’s statement went on to address that the Crimson Tide have played more non-conference daytime games in September since 2014 than any other SEC team. He said there have been ongoing conversations with league offices about the issue.

It is worth noting that a 12 pm EST kickoff is actually 11 am local Tuscaloosa time. Still, what exactly is Alabama expecting from a non-conference matchup featuring Southern Miss?
