Thursday afternoon has been a productive one for fans of college football as more and more details come out regarding the 2021 schedule.

As things currently stand, the has set its Big Noon Kickoff slate for the entire month of September.

One of those marquee Big Noon matchups includes the historic showdown between Nebraska and Oklahoma on Sept. 18. That means that kickoff for the battle between the Huskers and Sooners will be at 11 am local time, a time that does not sit well with Oklahoma AD Joe Castiglione.

“We are bitterly disappointed that the great Oklahoma-Nebraska rivalry, on the 50th anniversary of the Game of the Century, will kick off at 11 a.m.,” said Castiglione in a statement shared on Twitter. “We tried every possible avenue to proactively make our case…However, in the end, our TV partner chose to exercise its full contractual rights and denied our requests.”

In this era of college football, 11 am local kickoff times are not exactly unheard of. They may not always be enjoyable, but this seems like an odd fight to pick at this point in time.
